Job Description

Customer Service Intern, Manhattan Parks and Recreation

Application Deadline: Until Filled 

Details: Manhattan Parks and Recreation is looking for a Customer Service Intern with flexible scheduling March 2019 through August 2019, 15-30 hours per week, $10.00/hour. Position will be based in Parks and Recreation office at City Hall, 1101 Poyntz Ave.

The Customer Service Intern will:

  • Distribute electronic on-boarding documents to seasonal new hires
  • Schedule new hire appointments
  • Assist proper completion of all new hire documents (I-9, tax forms, oath, etc.)
  • Assist supervisors with applicant tracking software
  • Assist with explanation of policies and procedures to new hire employees
  • Assist seasonal employees with online paystub software, electronic timekeeping questions, etc.
  • Assist with updating the seasonal employment manual
  • Assist with general customer service for Parks and Recreation department
  • Assist with activity registrations and selling seasonal pool passes
  • Assist with department calendar postings
  • Assist with administrative duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • MUST have previous customer service experience
  • Prefer knowledge of basic employment laws
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Driver’s license
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks
  • Interest in and knowledge of parks and recreation helpful, but not required
