ANIMAL KEEPER I     (SUNSET ZOO)                (Regular/Full-Time  Non-exempt)

The Animal Keeper I provides for the day-to-day care of a wide-variety of multi-class and multi-genera animals. This position will interact with the public through public talks and answering questions.  Responsibilities unique to this position are cleaning the areas associated with animal exhibits such as service areas, public areas and the animal areas of the exhibits.   Basic understanding of the principles of animal husbandry, enrichment, training and welfare and of the natural history of animals from all classes is required, as is basic knowledge of terminalogy used in animal husbandry and biology.
