Job Description

Choir Director

Starting Salary: $12/hr

The Choir Director will be responsible for providing oversight for the Manhattan Parks and Recreation Youth Choir Program.  The director will select and teach the music and music theories to children from grades 4th-8th. Responsibilities also include but are not limited to performing one concert at the end of the session, holding an end of year celebration, selecting music, managing a budget, recruiting new members,  holding weekly rehearsals and ensuring uniformity at performances.  This program is all inclusive and does not turn any child away. Typical session dates are from September – December and January – April.  Choir Director must have a background of musical performance, be able to read music and have an understanding of musical theories.
