Job Description

YOGA INSTRUCTOR  (Seasonal):  $11.00/hr. 2 Positions Available

Open until filled – Review of Applications Begins Immediately

Douglass Community Recreation Center

 The essential functions:

  • Arrive 10-15 minutes before class time to set up yoga equipment and speaker
  • Greet participants as they walk in and make Douglass Center announcements at end of classes if needed in a respectful manner.
  • Have the ability to instruct a mixed levels yoga class that is well rounded to included modifications for a variety of people
  • Ability to enforce Douglass Center policies
  • Build positive working relationships with other staff members and build rapport with yoga participants.
  • Maintain certification and help yoga class participants grow in their yoga practice
  • Have the ability to give hands-on adjustments with respect to participants space and with their permission
  • Be able to adequately project voice when teaching in a large gym space
  • Be able to cue and demonstrate specific yoga postures to show alignment and help with maintain a safe yoga practice
  • Provide own music appropriate to the type of yoga being taught
  • Must have Yoga certifications (proof required), RYT 200 hours preferred.
  • Must have 1st Aid, CPR, AED certifications up-to-date
  • Represent Douglass Center in a respectable manner

 Must be 18 years or older.
