Job Description

Youth Baseball/Softball Program Supervisor

Job Description

The essential function of this position is setting up and supervision of baseball/softball programs including participants, spectators and staff.  Potential employees can expect anywhere from 5-20 hours/week depending on availability. 


  1. Opening and preparing facility for use prior to arrival of participants, spectators and staff.
  2. Supervision of other staff and making necessary changes in umpire schedules if needed.
  3. Welcome staff, players, coaches and spectators as they arrive.
  4. Observe umpires, participants, coaches, spectators and all aspects of the game and facility.
  5. Perform a sportsmanship rating following each game.
  6. Record scores and notes following each game.
  7. Ensure rules, policies and procedures are being observed and followed.
  8. Respond to all incidents, accidents and injuries.Document and report.
  9. Keep facilities clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  10. Observe and track severe weather.Make necessary decisions.
  11. Closing responsibilities.
  12. Assist Recreation Supervisor/Recreation Coordinator in other aspects of facility and programs.


  1. Some knowledge of baseball/softball preferred, but not required.
  2. Must have consistent weeknight availability.
  3. Attend all scheduled meetings or trainings.
