Job Description

Z.O.O. CREW SUPERVISOR    (Sunset Zoo)       (Seasonal)          Starting Salary: $9.00/hr

Position Responsibilities:  Supervise high school and middle school volunteers as they care for the education animal collection at Sunset Zoo as well as other assigned projects. Maintain daily records concerning animal welfare. Perform maintenance on and provide instruction in the use of equipment and supplies; must be detail oriented and have good communication skills. Experience with pre-teens and teens essential. Background knowledge of zoos, animals and conservation is vital. This position supervises and instructs volunteers of all ages and interfaces with guests. Must be able to work well with people.

Experience Required: High school graduate or equivalent; excellent supervisory skills; superior attention to detail; experience working with youth ages 10-18; and basic animal husbandry skills.  Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to work Monday - Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM as well as weekends from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM.                                                                   Closing Date:  Open until filled
