Job Description

AQUATICS – CASHIER - WATER PARKS - PARKS AND RECREATION

MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO BE ELIGIBLE

 STARTING SALARY:  $7.75/HR.     CLOSING DATE:  6/30/17

Auatic experience for customers at one of the three Manhattan pools by handling day-to-day transactions and answering customer questions. Staff will be paid competitively and may be eligible for promotion/transfer depending on performance. Greet any customer who enters the facility, assist them by providing information and resolving complaints, and take payment by cash, check, credit card, or by membership pass; Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers as necessary or directed by the Manager. Complete all opening and closing duties as well as maintain a clean and orderly checkout area throughout the day. Count the money in cash drawers at the beginning of every shift to ensure that starting amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. Complete a daily reconciliation of the cash register at the end of every night, filling out proper paperwork and preparing the deposit as required by the City of Manhattan; meet the needs of customers and provide excellent service; addition, subtraction, and multiplication; speak English language; actively listen to customers and address needs; speaking politely and clearly to customers, supervisors, and other employees; basic arithmetic; complete paperwork.

Work performed at one of three outdoor aquatic facilities: City Park Pool, Northview Pool, or Cico Park Pool; work performed outside in extreme heat which could expose the staff to various outside atmospheric conditions; noise level and activity level will be varied; to perform the essential functions of this job, staff may be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, handle, feel, speak, hear, climb stairs, push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds. Must pass a background check; weekends and holidays; pools typically open on Memorial Day and close on Labor Day; attend in-service training (required). (Seasonal Part-Time)
